Drop, the beat starts with the kick
Double-time hats with a snare in the kit
But the keyword to the groove is the pocket
No lose change in the beat or you’ll drop it
It’s true, you might have the skills
Ghost notes to kill or the sick-wit-it fills
Cheap thrills if you’re looking for the true groove
Simplest things are what make the heart move
Take a look back, got to stick with the roots
Fundamental rhythms are the path to the truth
Don’t be a show-off, stick to the bread
And butter beats, or it’s off with your head!
Nothing fancy, stick with the boom bap
Don’t tell me that you already knew that
I’m trying to make that “gotta-stay-true” rap
And show the world a new type of new track
so with a double time rhythm, it’s paramount that there’s a double time flow
But if I happen to take my time,
With the flow I got to take it slow

Through all of the elements…the result? Well nobody knows…

Trying to make a little point, you really got to get this…

Over a break, and on a studio track, in that I do kind of miss
The better days of my youth, when there wasn’t a booth
and there wasn’t a mic, but I sang to my tunes
no crowds or pressure, singin to the blue
skies, and I didn’t try to lie
didn’t try to make a little image for the world’s eyes
call it what you want, naivety’s true
in the sense that the best critic was just you
back to the point, what I’m trying to say
is in the image or the pursuit of everyday
should be renewed, into simpler steps
complexity is not your best bet
anybody can do a double-time
again, it’s content, more than the rhyme
it’s taking time for planning out your path
solutions come, but you got to do the math
nothing beats the perks of hard work
tilling the ground to nurture the earth
breaking a sweat and bearing good fruit
your character will then follow suit
so let’s take a breath
